Workshop: Explore Beyond Competence
Competence is joyful and empowering. It also limits us.
It feels great to be good at something. Our skills help us earn a living, have fun hobbies, and tend to our families. But when we're over-invested in our own sense of competence, we can get stuck in several ways.
If you're interested in reframing your relationship to being "good at" things, join me in this interactive workshop. We'll celebrate the joys of competence in its many guises, but also get curious about how competence itself can limit our growth and joy.
Our discussion will include:
- What do we mean by "competence"?
- What's our personal relationship to being skilled?
- How is competence limited?
- How does competence limit our ability to learn, grow, and enjoy life?
After we explore the concept and limitations of competence, I'll coach some participants to help bring these ideas into practice.
